Sangeetha
She planted tree seedlings and, encouraged by the Cluster Servant, started intercrop cultivation.
Sangeetha, a young widow and mother of two, struggled to maintain her farm; irrigating her crops meant working odd hours, depending entirely on unpredictable electricity supply. Though her elderly father supported her initially, he was unable to continue for long.
During this difficult phase, a TIST Cluster Servant introduced her to TIST, agroforestry, and the potential of carbon market. With new hope for making her land productive, Sangeetha began attending Cluster meetings. She soon enrolled as a TIST Farmer (TIST ID: 2017IN81).
She planted tree seedlings and, encouraged by the Cluster Servant, started intercrop cultivation. Today, she proudly says that TIST India has helped her keep her farm productive while earning additional income—supporting both her children’s needs and the upkeep of her land.
