Pamela Barigye has been working for TIST since 2008 as one of the first Uganda Cluster Servants and Quantifiers. She rapidly rose to become Expansion Coordinator and eventually TIST Uganda Co-leader.

Pamela is a TIST farmer as well! She is married and has three daughters. Previously she worked for the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF) and is passionate about mitigating deforestation and land degradation. She has taken it on herself to address rural poverty through improved agroforestry systems by working with TIST.

Through her work as a TIST leader, Pamela has been able to support two of her daughters in getting university degrees and plans to do the same for her third daughter once she has graduated from secondary school.

Pamela encourages potential TIST farmers with her story, emphasizing that the trees they plant today are a long-term investment that will reap a multitude of benefits for their children and grandchildren.

Pamela has traveled to the United States to represent TIST. She also works with her colleagues in Kenya to organize seminars for potential new farmers.
